The municipality, home to around 2,000 residents, consists of the villages of Vorderlanersbach, Lanersbach, Juns, Madseit and Hintertux, offering a unique blend of nature, relaxation and outdoor adventure.

Tux is best known for the Hintertux Glacier, which provides year-round skiing and snow sports. The region is also home to the popular Ski & Glacier World Zillertal 3000 ski area (with connections to the Mountopolis ski area), countless hiking trails, spectacular natural attractions and an alpine landscape that captivates visitors in every season.
